‘Big Deal’ Max Scherzer clears trade veto, heads to Texas
Max Scherzer, one of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball, is being traded.
MLB.com reported on Tuesday that “the Mets and Texas have agreed to a trade. The Mets will send Scherzer to Texas and receive infield prospect Luis Angel Acuña in exchange.”
Luis Angel Acuña is the younger brother of Atlanta’s Ronald Acuña Jr. and is one of Texas’ top prospects.
Scherzer, who signed a three-year, $130 million contract with the Mets last season, originally had a trade veto, but agreed to the deal and the move was finalized.메이저놀이터
Texas made a big push for Scherzer this offseason, despite his age and major league-leading salary ($43 million).
The Rangers are in first place in the American League West this season and were in desperate need of starting pitching depth after losing highly touted ace Jacob deGrom to injury.
