‘Catch the rebound’ Andrew Wiggins’ mission
Wiggins’ job is to rebound.
Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors recently interviewed NBC Sports Bay Area. Wiggins emphasized the importance of rebounding here.
The 6th seed Golden State is in the스포츠토토 first round of the playoffs against the 3rd seed Sacramento Kings. Golden State fell into a crisis after losing two straight games in the first two games of the series. Rebound was a problem.
Golden State rebounded 41-50 in Game 1. He gave up 17 offensive rebounds. In Game 2, he tied the rebound fight at 41-41, but allowed 12 offensive rebounds.
Game 3 was different. Golden State grabbed 59 rebounds, six more than Sacramento. He also gained 18 offensive rebounds, dominating Sacramento with 13. Kevon Rooney showed off his strength by grabbing 20 rebounds. Wiggins also showed his presence with 7 rebounds.
Rebounding is emerging as a factor that determines the outcome of a game. Wiggins was also aware of this.
Wiggins said, “Draymond Green and Gary Payton Jr. broke off in Game 3, so everyone had to participate in rebounding. I feel that the important thing to get to the top is the rebound. In every game, it goes back like before, when I grabbed the rebound wisely. I think there is,” he said.
Wiggins is an explosive athlete. But he’s not a great rebounder. He averaged 4.5 rebounds for his career.
But the more rebounds Wiggins grabs, the better Golden State’s chances of winning. Wiggins averaged 7.5 rebounds in the playoffs last season. When he grabbed 7 or more rebounds, Golden State went 9-2.
“When the game doesn’t go our way, we have to try to make the opponent uncomfortable with the dirty stuff like rebounding and defending,” said Wiggins.
It wasn’t long before he returned. But Wiggins is Golden State’s mainstay, so he needs to do his part.
Will Wiggins be able to give the team victory through a rebound in Game 4? Game 4 between the two teams will take place on the 24th.
