Wiggins’ job is to rebound.

Andrew Wiggins of the Golden State Warriors recently interviewed NBC Sports Bay Area. Wiggins emphasized the importance of rebounding here.

Wiggins is an explosive athlete. But he’s not a great rebounder. He averaged 4.5 rebounds for his career.

But the more rebounds Wiggins grabs, the better Golden State’s chances of winning. Wiggins averaged 7.5 rebounds in the playoffs last season. When he grabbed 7 or more rebounds, Golden State went 9-2.

“When the game doesn’t go our way, we have to try to make the opponent uncomfortable with the dirty stuff like rebounding and defending,” said Wiggins.

It wasn’t long before he returned. But Wiggins is Golden State’s mainstay, so he needs to do his part.
