The ‘Smart Air Dome’, a facility specialized in soccer field training, will be opened for the first time in Korea in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province.

After being selected as the target for the Air Dome installation support project by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020, Gyeongju City invested a total of 10.7 billion won, including 5 billion won from the government, to complete the nation’s first ‘Smart Air Dome’ with a regular standard indoor soccer field.
‘Smart Air Dome’ is designed as an all-weather training facility, equipped with a system that automatically purifies air by supplying air from the outer membrane of the air dome facility, and protects the internal space from external environments such as fine dust and bad weather.
The column-less indirect lighting system of the ‘Smart Air Dome’ allows the game to proceed without glare and shadow obstruction, and is evaluated as a high-quality facility as an air dome dedicated to soccer. The ‘Smart Air Dome’ plans to officially open in April after a two-month pilot operation period from February.
